Operation

Connect the Dock

  1. Place the dock on a stable, dry surface within its operating temperature range.
  2. Connect the supplied 12 VDC power adapter to the dock's power input.
  3. For wired recording transfer, connect the dock's RJ45 port to the network used by the receiving video management system (VMS) or cloud service.
  4. Connect the power adapter to a mains outlet using the appropriate supplied regional plug.

For connections and indicators, see Product Overview.

Insert the Camera

Make sure the camera's USB-C port and the dock connector are dry and free of debris. Align the camera with the cradle, with the lens facing you, and lower it carefully onto the connector. Do not force or twist the connection.

The DCK1 accommodates one BC200. Complete the camera's Initial Setup before configuring recording transfer.

Charging

The dock supports USB Power Delivery (USB-PD) charging at up to 15 W through the camera's bottom USB-C port using the supplied power adapter.

Check the camera display for battery level and charging status. For the camera's charging icons and LED behavior, see Display and LED Status.

Warnung

If the camera or connector becomes wet while charging, stop charging and disconnect power. Allow the camera and dock to dry completely before use.

For battery care and charging precautions, see BC200 Device Care. When using the dock, stay within its 0 C to 40 C (32 F to 104 F) operating range.

Status Indicators

The RJ45 port LEDs indicate the Ethernet link speed and activity:

Link speed Green port LED Yellow port LED
1 Gbps Lit; flashes on activity Lit; flashes on activity
10/100 Mbps Lit; flashes on activity Off

Use the camera's Connectivity > Ethernet Details pages to check its Ethernet link and address information; see the camera Menu reference.

The camera display reports charging and Ethernet connection status. Camera LEDs may be disabled by brightness settings or Covert mode; see the camera LED Status reference.

Hinweis

A network indicator does not confirm that recording transfer has completed. The dock does not display transfer progress or estimated completion time. Check transfer progress and completion in the receiving VMS or cloud service.

Camera Configuration

Docking settings are configured on the BC200, not on the dock. Use the camera's Configuration > System > Docking Station section for online-mode and docked media settings.

See the PERCEPT BC200 user manual, System > Docking Station, for the docking configuration reference.

Hinweis

By default, live audio and video streaming is disabled while the camera is docked. The camera sends a static charging image instead, and recorded video retrieval over Wi-Fi is disabled. These behaviors are controlled by the camera's configuration and may vary with firmware version.

For wired-only recorded-video offload, enable Prevent Media Playback Over a Wireless Connection under Configuration > Network > Streaming > Media in the camera web interface. This prevents recorded media playback over a wireless connection. See the camera's Network configuration reference for streaming controls.

Camera IP addressing and routing are covered by the Network reference.

Network Identity

The dock has no independent network address. It mirrors the docked camera's MAC address and network settings, making it transparent to the VMS and other software integrated with the camera.

Transfer Recordings

The dock provides the wired network path. Recording offload must be configured in the receiving VMS or cloud service; connecting the dock alone does not configure recording retrieval.

  1. Complete camera setup and confirm that its network settings allow access to the receiving system.
  2. In the camera's Configuration > System > Docking Station section, enable Enable Online Mode to activate Ethernet while docked.
  3. Configure the camera in the receiving system using the applicable Integration Guide.
  4. Insert the camera into the powered, network-connected dock.
  5. Check Connectivity > Ethernet Details on the camera and confirm that the receiving system can reach it.
  6. Check recording-transfer progress and completion in that system.

For PERCEPT Cloud workflows, also see the PERCEPT Cloud user guide.

Remove the Camera

Confirm in the receiving system that any required recording transfer has completed before removing the camera. Carefully remove it from the cradle without twisting or forcing the USB-C connection.
