Routine checks, charging, cleaning, long-term storage, and transportation guidance for the body camera.

Routine Checks

These quick checks help keep the body camera in good working condition.

  • Before use: Check the camera exterior for visible damage or contamination, and confirm the lens is clean.
  • Weekly: Wipe the outer surfaces of the body camera with a soft, dry cloth to remove dust, fingerprints, and smudges.
  • Periodically: Do a deeper cleaning of ports, connectors, and the lens area.
  • After exposure: Clean the camera after contact with liquids, mud, salt, or other contaminants.

Charging

The PERCEPT BC200 can be charged through its USB-C port using a compatible USB charger or power bank.

Tip

Fast charging is supported when using a compatible USB-C Power Delivery (PD) charger.

The camera can also be inserted into a PERCEPT DCK1 or DCK8 docking station for charging. When connected to a network, the docking station can also provide wired data connectivity.

Warning

If the camera becomes wet while charging, stop charging immediately, remove the camera from the dock or disconnect the charging cable, dry the connector area, and wait until fully dry before charging again.

Note

Charging is supported from 0 °C to 45 °C (32 °F to 113 °F). Outside this range, charging speed may be reduced or charging may pause until the battery temperature returns to the supported range.

Cleaning

Proper cleaning helps preserve image quality and long-term device performance.

Before cleaning:

  • Power off the product, unplug the USB-C charging cable, or undock the camera before cleaning.
  • Inspect the device for visible damage such as cracks, separation, or openings that could expose internal components.
  • If damage is present, stop using the device and contact an IONODES reseller.

For external cleaning:

  • Use a soft, dry cloth for routine cleaning.
  • For stubborn dirt, use a cloth lightly dampened with a mild detergent solution. Wring the cloth thoroughly before use and wipe the surface dry afterward.
  • Clean the lens area with a non-abrasive lens cloth.
  • Apply cleaning solution to the cloth, not directly to the device.
  • Allow the body camera to air dry in a well-ventilated area before reuse.
  • Before charging, make sure the USB connector and contact areas are dry and free of debris.

Warning

Do not immerse the camera in water or cleaning solutions.

Warning

Do not place the lens under running water or direct high-pressure water at the device.

Warning

Do not use compressed air on the device. Compressed air can damage microphone components.

Warning

Do not insert sharp objects into the USB-C port, speaker openings, or microphone openings on the body camera.

Warning

Do not use solvents such as thinner or benzene, ammonia-based window cleaners, or abrasive materials, as they may damage the product surface, lens coatings, or seals.

Long-Term Storage

For long-term storage, follow the recommendations below to protect battery health and keep the camera ready for service.

  • Store the camera in a dry location.
  • Store the camera between 10 C and 25 C (50 F to 77 F) and avoid large temperature swings.
  • Keep the battery state of charge between 40% and 60%.

Note

If the camera remains in storage for an extended period, check the battery charge periodically and recharge to about 50% to avoid over-discharge.

Shipping and Transportation

  • Use the original shipping box and packing materials whenever possible.
  • For maximum protection during transport, repack the product using the original factory packaging.
