Troubleshooting¶
Common issues and resolutions¶
| Symptom | Possible cause | Resolution |
|---|---|---|
| Body camera does not power up | The battery is depleted | Charge the camera. |
| Body camera does not charge when connected to the dock | The dock is not connected to mains power or is using an incompatible power adapter | Connect the dock to a power outlet with a compatible power adapter. A green status LED on the dock confirms normal power. |
| No status LED feedback | The battery is depleted | Charge the camera. |
| No status LED feedback | Covert mode is enabled | Disable covert mode. |
| Body camera does not record video, still pictures, or audio | Internal storage is full | Offload the data from internal storage and verify the configured grooming strategy. |
| Body camera does not record video, still pictures, or audio | Internal storage is faulty | Return the body camera through the RMA process for internal storage replacement. This is not an end-user operation and unauthorized replacement voids the warranty. |
| Time and date are inaccurate | NTP is not active | Check the time and date synchronization settings in the web interface and configure an NTP server. |
| No streaming over LTE | Data usage is blocked | Enable the required traffic types in the cellular data usage settings of the web interface. |
| LTE data state is not connected | No PERCEPT Connect plan is active | Contact customer service to purchase or activate a PERCEPT Connect plan. |
| LTE data state is not connected when using a third-party SIM card | Signal quality, APN settings, or SIM lock state is preventing connection | Verify cellular signal strength and APN settings. Make sure the SIM card is unlocked before inserting it into the camera. If the issue persists, contact the cellular service provider. |
Hard Reset Recovery¶
Use hard reset only when the body camera is unresponsive and normal controls cannot be used.
- Press and hold MENU + SELECT + FUNCTION + POWER together for more than 10 seconds.
- Release all buttons after the reset is triggered.
- Wait for the camera to restart.
- Complete Initial Setup before resuming normal operation.
Note
Hard reset is a recovery action and is not part of normal day-to-day operation.
Thermal Protection¶
At elevated temperatures, the camera may reduce performance to protect hardware and maintain safe operation.
In high-temperature conditions, recording or live-streaming performance can decrease, and the device may stop recording or shut down if temperatures continue to rise.
If this happens:
- Move the camera to a cooler environment.
- Keep it out of direct sunlight.
- Stop charging until the device cools.
- Resume operation after normal temperature is restored.
