Serial Port Connectivity¶
The serial interface supports RS-422 four-wire, RS-485 two-wire, and RS-485 four-wire operation for equipment such as PTZ cameras and keyboards. Select the required operating mode through the device web interface or supported VMS.
Use twisted-pair wiring and the supplied terminal block socket. See Terminal Block Pinout for pin numbers.
RS-422 or RS-485 Four-Wire¶
Connect transmit signals on each device to receive signals on the other device.

RS-485 Two-Wire¶
- Join RX- and TX- on the encoder terminal block to form Data -.
- Join RX+ and TX+ on the encoder terminal block to form Data +.
- Connect the external equipment as follows.
- Select RS-485 two-wire mode in the management interface.
